Attack Surface

The Attack Surface is the total sum of the problem-areas and vulnerable entry points in a network or computing device that can be accessed by a hacker or malicious party. An Attack Surface can be scanned to determine how to break into the given system, at which point the hacker can determine which attack vectors are the best entry points into the network.
