Encryption

Encryption is the process of encoding information or messages so that only intended recipients of the message can read or receive it. In the message, the legible aspect, called the Plaintext, is encrypted using an algorithm (also known as a cipher) that creates ciphertext. This text can be decrypted using the encryption key, but those skilled in computational coding and programming can decrypt the message or data.
